Metro West Ambulance has two locations in both Hillsboro and Clackamas. We partner with our region’s largest health systems along with a national leader in virtual hospital patient treatment to provide customized, innovative mobile health care services including virtual hospital patient care, chronic disease management, surgical and urgent follow up, and low acuity patient care. With over 9 years’ experience and a team of 22 providing community paramedicine-mobile integrated health care & services, our various programs offer unique services that go beyond traditional, episodic emergency care and instead move towards a longitudinal approach to a patient’s overall health and wellness. With our positions, you’re a part of a large health care team caring for patients and working with physicians, nurses, nurse practioners and other providers providing customized hospital level care to patients in their home at the hospital level.
So when we say wicked smart, clinically savvy and patient focused providers are what we want, this means motivated, highly skilled clinicians that are looking to take their care to another level. When seeing patients in a virtual hospital setting, you must be able to effectively triage, evaluate and help determine treatment based on symptoms, physical assessment, and medical history, and accurately convey findings and patient treatment needs to other medical professionals in the care team. Care includes iStat point of care lab testing, advanced medication administration and treatment including antibiotics, advanced cardiac medications, 12 lead, blood draws/blood cultures, IV placement and maintenance, foley/straight cath placement, wound evaluations and so much more!

- Current Oregon Paramedic License or ability to obtain Oregon reciprocity
- Current BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, and pediatric certifications (accepted pediatric certifications include PALS, PEPP, or EPC)
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 21 years in age
- Applicants must meet Metro West Ambulance’s motor vehicle record, National/Federal and criminal background check, drug & alcohol screening, and physical requirement standards. Metro West Ambulance is a drug free work place.
- Must have own vehicle – mileage reimbursement for mobile health
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a high performance EMS system or clinical setting but we know that there are always exceptions –you might be one of them! We’d love additional clinical training in remote medicine, critical care, pharmacology, social work or completion of a Community Paramedic Education Program is preferred (but it is not required).
