Duties include the repair and maintenance of ambulances and vans in a timely and accurate manner. Specifically, engine and fuel systems diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting and repair, brake and electrical system work, front line mechanic inspections and preventive maintenance.

  • 2 years recent and verifiable Line Mechanic experience

We are currently recruiting EMT students, NREMTs, and Oregon EMTs to join our team! We offer a variety of 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts with optional overtime shifts available. This position operates out of both our Clackamas and Hillsboro locations. We offer paid paramedic school tuition assistance for EMTs, and offer flexible schedules that work around your school schedule if you’re currently enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program, or are currently taking pre-requisite courses for Paramedic school.

EMT students and those working on obtaining their Oregon EMT licenses begin their careers in our Wheelchair Division performing non-emergency wheelchair transportation which is a great entry level position for those looking to start their careers in healthcare. Medical Drivers work in our Wheelchair Division performing non-emergency wheelchair transportation. This is a great entry-level position for those looking to start their careers in healthcare while gaining an entry level EMS certification. We offer a variety of 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts. This position operates out of both our Clackamas and Hillsboro locations.

This position will be required to attend a two week EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) Academy June 23rd through July 3rd. This training is paid with a 6 month full time employment commitment. In addition to the initial paid EMR training, we also offer EMT and Paramedic school tuition assistance as well as flexible schedules that work around your school schedule if you are later enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program, or are taking pre-requisite courses for Paramedic school.

Essential Job Duties include:

  • Providing safe wheelchair transportation to doctor’s offices, hospital discharges, dialysis center appointments, hospice, etc.
  • Working closely with a variety of patients and care providers

Metro West Ambulance is currently recruiting seasonal part-time EMTs for our Special Events Division. We provide event standby medical services at various events throughout the Portland Metro Area (concerts, sporting events, community events, marathons, rodeos, etc.). EMTs in our Special Events Division provide BLS level care and treatment to patients encountered at standby events.

 

Qualified applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years in age
  • Be an Oregon licensed EMT
  • Have a current CPR Certification
